Douglas Kim filed a class-action lawsuit in New York on August 27 alleging that Ledger failed to protect customer data in breaches in 2020 and 2023.
Kim claims the leaks enabled thieves to target him and that he lost nearly $2 million in crypto as a result.
The suit states Ledger did not notify users promptly and did not improve its security measures, citing violations of New York’s SHIELD Act.
It seeks between $500 million and several billion dollars in damages plus a jury trial.
