Australia's AUSTRAC canceled the registration of GetCoins, operated by BA Digital Ventures Pty Ltd, on June 4 2026 after working with the National Anti-Scam Centre on customer complaints about alleged cryptocurrency investment scams.

The regulator also canceled, suspended or refused renewal of 45 remittance and virtual asset provider registrations over the past year.

AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas stated that businesses with canceled registrations can no longer operate.

The actions targeted alleged exploitation of providers by organized scams, though no amounts recovered or criminal findings against GetCoins were disclosed.

What remains unknown

No breakdown of the 45 actions by sector or decision type is available, and no figures on customer losses recovered or the scale of scam activity disrupted have been released.
