ICE invests in tZERO, licenses 103 patents, and names the firm design partner for a planned NYSE-affiliated tokenized platform still awaiting regulatory and operational approvals.

ICE Invests in tZERO and Licenses Patents for Planned NYSE Tokenized Platform

Intercontinental Exchange agreed to invest in tZERO's financing round and license 23 patent families that cover 103 patents. The two firms also signed a memorandum of understanding that names tZERO as design partner for infrastructure supporting ICE's planned NYSE-affiliated tokenized-securities platform.

Terms and status remain conditional

Under the MOU, tZERO is expected to become an approved digital transfer agent and platform subscriber, subject to regulatory, technology, and operational requirements that have not yet been completed. The parties will also assess whether tZERO tokenized assets could serve as collateral at ICE clearing houses and affiliates.

No investment amount, license fees, launch date, or confirmation of operational status has been disclosed. All transfer-agent and collateral roles remain conditional on approvals that are still pending.
