Mirae Asset Chairman Outlines $109B Digital Asset Target for Digital X
Park Hyeon-joo named cryptocurrency, stablecoins, real-world assets and security token offerings as focus areas after the Korbit acquisition.
Mirae Asset Financial Group founder and chairman Park Hyeon-joo stated a 150 trillion won, or about $109 billion, target for the group’s digital asset business at an employee event in Seoul.
The target centers on Digital X, the operating company formed after Mirae acquired 97 percent of Korbit and renamed the entity. Park described Digital X as a future core business for the group.
Capital and timeline details
Four focus areas were named: cryptocurrency, stablecoins, real-world assets and security token offerings. Tokenization of gold, silver and electricity was also referenced.
Mirae may pursue a third-party share allotment of 200 billion to 300 billion won in the first quarter of 2027, subject to earnings performance. The group aims for profitability in the digital asset business by 2027.
