Monad MIP-8 mainnet activation changes storage read pricing
Monad's MIP-8 upgrade on mainnet at timestamp 1788359400 introduces 128-slot storage pages that reduce repeated SLOAD costs to 100 gas inside each page.

Monad activated its MonadTen revision, also called MIP-8, on mainnet at Unix timestamp 1788359400. The change replaces per-slot warming with a 128-slot page model for storage reads.
A storage page holds 128 words of 32 bytes each, or 4096 bytes total. The first SLOAD on any page costs 8100 gas. Subsequent reads inside the same warmed page cost 100 gas for the remainder of the transaction.
Block 101672712 reproduced the pricing step-down, with the cold charge returning at slot 128, the start of the next page.

The extent of developer adoption of packed storage layouts remains unknown. Compatibility impact on contracts that hardcode prior gas costs is not quantified.
