SoFi Payward Partnership Adds 24/7 Settlement and Stablecoin Listing

SoFi and Kraken parent Payward integrate banking rails with crypto exchange infrastructure through a 24/7 dollar network and bank-issued stablecoin.

SoFi and Payward Connect Banking Rails to Kraken Exchange via 24/7 Settlement

SoFi Technologies and Payward, the parent of the Kraken exchange, announced a partnership on September 3 that links SoFi banking infrastructure to crypto trading operations.

Payward joins the SoFi Exchange Network, Kraken lists SoFiUSD, and SoFi taps Kraken Prime for digital asset liquidity. SoFiUSD is issued by a regulated bank and redeemable one-to-one for U.S. dollars.

The SoFi Exchange Network provides real-time 24/7 USD settlement for institutional clients. SoFi CEO Anthony Noto stated that the financial system should not shut down when markets stay open. Payward co-CEO David Ripley described the move as addressing a new financial paradigm.

SoFi reports 15.8 million members and Tech Solutions serving over 134 million accounts globally. Kraken confidentially filed for an IPO in November 2025.

Remaining unknowns

The extent of any consumer-facing product integration beyond institutional settlement is unspecified. The timeline for full operational rollout of network access is not stated.
