StarkWare researcher Avihu Levy spent a 10,000-satoshi output in Bitcoin block 964199 using the QSB construction that combines hash-based one-time signatures and signature grinding.

MARA Pool mined the transaction via its Slipstream service because the format is nonstandard under default Bitcoin Core relay policy yet valid under consensus rules.

The method does not alter Bitcoin cryptography or introduce new consensus rules and protects only the prepared output.

Producing the transaction required several hours of computation and $150-200 in resources.

No immediate quantum threat exists because current machines remain far below the scale needed to derive private keys in practice.

The approach is not yet practical for ordinary users and does not provide a network-wide solution.
