Polymarket Launches Perpetual Futures Venue on 3 September

Polymarket opened a perpetual futures market on 3 September. The venue began with 10 contracts and expanded to 67 within hours. Leverage reaches 20 times on crypto, indices and commodities and 10 times on single stocks, with the funding rate capped at 4 percent per hour in either direction.

Contracts include bitcoin, ether, solana, hype, gold, silver, WTI crude, the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and a SpaceX shares tracker. US residents continue to be routed to the separate Polymarket US arm under the 2022 CFTC order and $1.4 million penalty.

Independent confirmation of claimed liquidity depth and fee leadership is not yet available. Actual trading volumes and user uptake after launch have not been reported, and the timeline for any onshore perps filing or approval remains unspecified.
