Cardano Governance Clears Committee Renewal by Narrow 0.18% Margin
DRep and SPO votes met thresholds in a Sept. 1 snapshot, but non-participating stake nearly blocked passage and left formal ratification pending at the epoch boundary.

Cardano’s on-chain vote to renew four seats on the constitutional committee crossed both required thresholds in a pre-boundary snapshot taken at 09:59 UTC on Sept. 1.
DRep support reached 69.36 percent against a 67 percent threshold. Stake-pool operator support reached 51.18 percent against a 51 percent threshold, clearing the line by 0.18 percentage points.
Four committee seats lapse at the start of epoch 654 on Sept. 6. Without ratification the committee would drop below its five-member minimum, blocking actions that require its approval.
Participation Rule and Pending Steps
Under protocol rules, stake held by pools that did not vote counts against ratification. The snapshot showed roughly 5.316 billion ADA on the effective No side, the bulk of it from non-participating pools rather than explicit No votes.
Formal ratification is assessed at the epoch 653 boundary. Whether additional votes altered the final tallies remains unknown.
