BitGo WalletConnect Integration Opens Decibel DEX to Institutional Self-Custody Clients
BitGo clients can trade on the Aptos-based Decibel DEX via WalletConnect while keeping existing compliance controls intact.
BitGo and Decibel announced a WalletConnect integration that lets BitGo institutional clients trade spot and perpetual contracts on the Aptos-powered Decibel DEX directly from their existing self-custody wallets.
Address whitelisting and multi-party approval workflows already in place at BitGo now apply to Decibel trades without requiring asset movement.
Initial connectivity covers Ethereum and Solana networks, with further networks scheduled for later rollout.
Brylee Whatley, Executive Director at Decibel Foundation, stated that institutions have long sought onchain market access but were limited by operational gaps between custody and trading venues. Abel Seow, Managing Director and Head of APAC Sales at BitGo, noted that institutions should not have to choose between required controls and onchain market access. Solomon Tesfaye, Chief Business Officer at Aptos Labs, said the integration shows regulated institutional capital is prepared to move onchain.
