Coinbase Opens Regulated Futures Venue for Canadian Traders

Coinbase Financial Markets opened perpetual and dated futures trading for eligible Canadian users. The contracts are offered under a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and include nano-sized products with leverage up to 10 times.

Eric Richmond, Country Director and CEO of Coinbase Canada, stated that the launch ends Canadian traders' reliance on unregulated offshore platforms.

Products and oversight

The offering covers 23 crypto futures including BTC, ETH and SOL, five commodity futures on gold, silver and oil, and COIN50 index futures. Promotional fees apply for a limited period.

Coinbase also expanded its Webull partnership to allow Canadian spot trading of BTC, ETH and SOL.
