Harmony Sunsets L1 Mainnet, Migrates ONE to Ethereum via Airdrop
Harmony ends its 2019 mainnet and shifts ONE to Ethereum settlement through a 1:1 airdrop after final snapshot, with validator compensation pool.

Harmony announced it will sunset its 2019 mainnet and migrate the ONE token to Ethereum through a 1:1 airdrop after a final-block snapshot. The protocol cited threats from state actors and AI agents as the reason for the shutdown.
Validators must cease node operations by September 10. A $1.37 million pool will compensate those who transition into governors for a proposed AI video remix economy. The snapshot will cover wallets, staking delegations, and exchange holdings, with no action required from holders.
What remains open
The move adds to the pattern of Layer-1 chains consolidating onto Ethereum settlement. Scale of validator transitions and final airdrop participation remain unconfirmed, and details of the proposed remix economy and governance structure are preliminary.
