StarkWare researcher Avihu Levy developed QSB (Quantum Safe Bitcoin) using hash-based protection. First known QSB transaction confirmed in Bitcoin block 964,199 on August 26.
Transaction used a 10,000-satoshi output and was mined by MARA via Slipstream. Method does not change Bitcoin consensus rules and fits within existing script limits.
Transaction is non-standard; ordinary nodes do not relay it. Estimated cost: $150–$200 plus hours of GPU compute time.
StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson still advocates a future soft fork for long-term protection.
